The Fall Mountain Regional School District School Board announces that they will begin the search for the district's next superintendent. Recent experience would suggest that this is no easy task. The superintendent is the chief executive officer who provides direction and leadership for all educational activities in our school communities.  In addition, he/she sets the tone for the district, potentially, for years to come.  This is one of the most important tasks a school board can face.

In preparation for the hiring of the new superintendent, the school board will take the following steps: review the job description, review the most recent superintendent contract, review the district leadership profile and develop interview questions.

The position of superintendent will be posted on SAU60 website on January 22, 2025. The Human Resource Director will screen applications and bring forward all qualified candidates for consideration. The board will then review applications and schedule interviews accordingly.

Being mindful of a shrinking superintendent candidate pool, and the long-held belief that our district has the talent to fill positions which exist within our district, a priority will be given to qualified internal candidates.

The intent of this letter is to clearly and transparently communicate the path the board intends to follow in the search for a new superintendent. There will be an opportunity for community feedback at an appropriate point of the selection process.

Feel free to address any further questions you might have to the interim superintendent, Dr. Debra Manseau.
